Look! It’s me! Looking like a fancy-pants celebrity! Which I should be clear I am not, but it sure was fun pretending for one night.
Last week (was it only last week?) I was whooping it up with the best of them at the 2012 Company Style Blogger Awards. It was an honour to be nominated and so on and so forth, but really what I was excited about was getting to go to a swish party with Beautiful People and free cocktails. I hung out in the vintage corner with Fleur, Gemma, Akeela, Charlotte, and Lisa. We were also joined by Pearl and Florrie which was brilliant as I’d never met them before. Pearl is a total legend, if I lived in Manchester I’d be at her door everyday begging for friendship and fashion gossip.
We all reacted with our usual grace and poise when it turned out we hadn’t won:
We also got to try the yummy new rum in town, Pink Pigeon. Which is a fabulous name if ever I heard one. The rum is made in Mauritius and named after the rare Pink Pigeon bird which lives there – and as a nice touch they donate to the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation which takes care of them. What better excuse to enjoy a cocktail? In fact the drinks they made were so tasty that I asked for the recipe:
- 35ml of Pink Pigeon rum
- Juice of one lime
- Top up with ginger beer
I didn’t take any photos on the night, wanting to enjoy myself rather than worry about documenting things. However you can check Retro Chick, Fashion Pearls of Wisdom, or Company Magazine if you’d like to see more pics of the night.
