A friend back in Australia just alerted me to a vintage clothes auction happening in Sydney this Friday and I thought I’d share a few of the pictures.
The clothes are being sold by Aussie designer Lisa Ho (after the business went into liquidation), and the auction includes her vintage collection as well as past designs of her own. Unfortunately many of the pictures are literally just clothes on a rail and you cant see any details at all (they should really have looked at the photographs on Kerry Taylor Auctions website for inspiration), but you can see there will be plenty of hidden treasures. There is even a 1930s satin wedding gown and veil, which would have been nice to get a full view of but the photo just shows it stuffed in a box.
The auction will have 100 lots of Edwardian-60s vintage pieces, 50 lots of Lisa Ho items, and 30 boxes of lace, ribbon, and fabrics. You can get a preview of the clothes on Thursday 1st of August, and the auction itself is on Friday 2nd of August. More photographs and details on the Lawsons website.
