1930s coral pink check day dress

Vintage coral pink checked cotton day dress dating from the early 30s. The bodice has a deep scoop neckline trimmed with ruffles, and short sleeves. The dress fastens with buttons at the side. The waist is shirred at the front, and the skirt comes to calf length, with a pocket in the right side hip. Press studs inside the shoulders and arm holes where there must have once been shoulder pads, these could be added again if you wanted an original 30s look.
Condition: Good. The dress is structurally sound, however it has faded in places and has various small marks. The main fading is across the shoulders and bodice. There are very small rust marks on the shoulders and the upper section of the skirt, also a faint water mark on the lower skirt (all pictured). As you can see, although the fabric has faded it has done so evenly, so luckily it doesn’t detract too much from the look of the dress and it is still immensely wearable. If you wish to work on the stains I would suggest using a dry cleaner who is used to working with vintage, as a harsh soaking agent may damage the fabric.
