Description
Beautiful navy straw tilt hat with floral trimmings dating from the 40s. The hat is constructed in a stiff navy blue straw, with a wide flat crown and small brim. There is a burgundy satin piped ribbon for the hat band, and the front is decorated with an assortment of artificial flowers. Inside the hat are two side pieces to help it stay in place; it also would have been intended for the hat to be pinned to the hair to keep it secure, so you may need to use some hair grips for this.
Label: Original Chapeaux Louise. Size is given as 22 1/2, though as it is worn on top of a hairstyle this is flexible.
Condition: very good. The original netting has torn and disintegrated, but everything else is still in great condition.
