Description
Vintage 50s or late 40s knitted wool suit comprising skirt and beaded cardigan. The cardigan has three quarter sleeves, a round neck, and faux pearl buttons down the front. The bodice is decorated with teal blue embroidery and white beadwork. The skirt is knee length and has faux pleats (worked into the knit itself). Label states ‘Kims’ Kimberly Knitwear Inc, 100% pure virgin wool. I have found some old advertisements for the company in US Vogue, and it looks as though this set dates to 1954 or 1955 when similar styles were being advertised.
General size is small to medium. Condition is very good; only real flaw is the pearlised coating starting to come off the buttons.
