Description

Classic vintage  suit designed by famous British couturier Hardy Amies, official dressmaker to the Queen from 1955 to 1990.  Though the suit dates from the 1980s, the style is very simple and classic – with a belt around the middle it would have a distinctly 1940s look. The suit comprises a straight cut pencil skirt with a slightly fitted blazer jacket in a subtle grey blue 100% wool crepe. The jacket fastens with three buttons and has full length sleeves and shoulder pads. It has reinforced seam details down the front, feature buttons in purple pearlised plastic with a gold nautical knot in the centre, and curved welt pockets on each hip. Both jacket and skirt are lined.

Size is a general medium. Condition is very good; there is a light discolouration on the inside neck and slight pilling on the wool crepe, but both of these are very minor and only noticeable on close inspection.
