I know, I know, I promised I would leave poor Suzy Parker alone. But I got an email from Tina from What I Found who had been flicking through some old magazines and discovered this Suzy montage on the cover of Esquire magazine in 1959. Naturally, in the interest of comprehensivesness, I had to share. Doesn’t she look different with and without make-up? Tina very generously asked if I would like her copy of the magazine, so I am looking forward to reading the article inside on “The Ambiguities of Suzy Parker”by Hollis Alpert and Richard Avedon.
For those of you who don’t already read it, What I Found is jam packed with the fantastic images Tina finds in old pattern books and magazines (such as the glamorous advert for Chen Yu nail laquer below). For those of you handy with a needle, she also sells original vintage sewing patterns here.
