In the past I have written about my admiration for Miss Piggy as a style icon, and it seems the rest of the fashion world is finally catching up. Next month Piggy will become the new face of MAC cosmetics, while OPI have already named several nail polishes after her. The icing on the cake is a spread in the November issue of InStyle magazine, with Piggy decked out in designer garb from Jason Wu, Opening Ceremony, and Brian Atwood among others. All this is to promote the new Muppet movie, which will be out next year. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait.
Miss Piggy said of the MAC project:
”Oh I adore collaboration—especially when everyone is there to listen to what I have to say and do exactly what I tell them to. And those fabulously talented people at M·A·C did just that. They were more than willing to listen, learn and be inspired by moi, so they could get the pink eye shadow just right, the flutter of the lashes just perfect, the texture of the eye liner just so. Best of all, they did all the work while I did all the talking! Très fantastique!”

The OPI polishes include Excuse Moi, Divine Swine, Gettin' Miss Piggy With It, and Rainbow Connection.
