Ahoy there! Here is something for your summer diary, ye vintage landlubbers: Victorious Vintage at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, on 2nd – 3rd June.
The event is being held over the Jubilee long weekend, and promises stalls of vintage clothing and collectables, prizes for best dressed fair-goers, 40s makeovers, dance troupes, and music on two stages until 10pm. Best of all, entry to the fair is FREE, GLORIOUSLY FREEEEE!!! There will also be a cinema showing classic films (£5 entry), and you can visit the other historical attractions (including the Mary Rose, HMS Victory, and Naval Museum) at their usual ticket prices.
I have never actually been to Portsmouth so I am really hoping I can make it to this – I can’t think of anything much nicer for a summer weekend than strolling around in the sunshine, looking at old ships, listening to live music, and browsing for vintage – maybe followed by an old film at the cinema. And I love the fact that Portsmouth are putting this on as a free event for all, so that people who might not usually go to a vintage event can come along and enjoy themselves along with us die-hards.
Now to save you even more money, if a free event wasn’t enough. If you also want to visit the attractions at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, you can buy your tickets online from their website which will save you 10%. OR, if you travel by Southwest trains you can buy a combined rail/entry ticket which takes £4.90 off the adult ticket price, OR if you travel by a Stagecoach bus you can print a voucher which you show with your bus ticket to save 20% at the gate.
Any vintage sellers wanting to ask about stall hire can email firstname.lastname@example.org
Hope to see you all there!
