This vintage jumper dress is so cosy and warm that it has long been one of my winter staples, but somehow it has never made it onto the blog. Well the wait is over!
Last week I went to visit my friend the Grasshopper in her new house. She made spaghetti and meatballs, I played with her cat, we gossiped, sang duets of Bill Bailey comedy songs, and she gave me a belated birthday present of a handmade owl mask (see last photo). With so many business pressures I have found it hard to keep in regular contact with friends over the past year, but it is always such good fun when we do find time for each other – particularly when I am plied with meatballs smothered in melted cheese.
Being a very cold day (believe me these coat-less photos were taken very quickly before rushing back inside) I needed to wear something warm, but wanted to don something a little nicer than my usual jeans-and-fifteen-layers-of-jumpers combo. Out came my trusty vintage jumper dress, paired with a vintage leopard print baker boy cap, purple tights, over the knee argyll pattern socks, vintage brogues, and a scarf which I wove myself many years ago.
If you scroll further down you will also see what good friends Daisy and I became. She looks rather less happy than my grinning face, but believe me, she was purring.

If only you could see my jocks we’d have the holy trinity ;)
Jumper dresses are a winter favourite of mine too. I love the over the knee socks and shoes… I must try that (I usually go for boots)!
