The first round of Vionnet images. In a stroke of luck I found that the picture above is in a book I have at home alongside a very similar dress, so the actual gown would most likely have been in black silk gauze with gold thread embroidery.
The first seven images are by the Italian futurist artist Thayaht, who worked closely with Vionnet during the twenties - designing the House of Vionnet logo, patterns for fabric printing, and illustrations of Vionnet gowns for fashion magazines such as Bon Ton.
